RM-900 for Winamp is obsolete, see IntelliRemote or Remote Center for latest information.

In December of 2001, Darkain recieved a sound card that came with the Creative RM-900 remote control. Around this time, Darkain frequently hosted LAN-Parties where xNoLaNx would attend. At the March 25, 2001 LAN-Party, the two of them agreed that the RM-900 remote needed better software support. Together, the two figured out how the application known as Remote Center worked, and developed the RM-900 for Winamp plugin to interact with it.

The sucess of this plugin lead towards the development of several other plugins, including DX-Joy for Winamp, API-KB for Winamp, and RM-X.

After RM-X split up into seperate plugins again, this plugin became named "Remote Center" to match the program that it interacted with. An alternate plugin, IntelliRemote, was also developed which interacted with the remote at the driver level.
